Last night SMS hosted the 20th Annual CVES Regional Spelling Bee.  We were represented by sixth graders Jordan Gilbert and Emma Meschinelli, and seventh grader and defending Regional Champion Daniel Alexis.  After three virtual rounds, a written test, and several live rounds on stage, Daniel once again emerged victorious!  Congratulations!  Mrs. McCarty would like to think Daniel, Emma and Jordyn, as well as the many other students who participated in the fully virtual spelling bee rallies this past winter for a chance to qualify for this event.  And to last night’s competitors, congrats on walking  into yet another unknown situation of computer screens and microphones, this time with an audience!
