The library will be closed today, Wednesday, and Thursday due to Regent testing. Library staff will be available in the guidance office to assist students in need of loaner laptops or who need tech help.

Dungeons and Dragons 101 will meet after school today at 3:20 in Room 316.

The Green Team will have a meeting after school on Wednesday in Room 316. New members and ideas are always welcome.

We will be starting softball clinics for JV and Varsity Softball this Sunday the 29th from 8:00-9:30. You need to bring your glove and clean sneakers to wear in the gym. All who want to try out are welcome. Coach McMahon and Coach Walker are looking forward to seeing you.

PHS Math League is hosting this month’s NYS Math League competition today, Tuesday 1/24, during 3rd Period in room 223.  Anyone interested in challenging the exam can take it.  Congratulations to Senior Kevin Li who scored a perfect 6 out of 6 on last month’s exam!

Attention Juniors, if you would like to learn more about opportunities exploring the world of engineering and technology there is a Junior Experience Day coming up for the New Visions Applied Engineering program on February 2nd, 2023- please contact your school counselor by January 26th if you would like to attend!

The weather forecast for Friday and Saturday features atypical, concerning cold weather.  As you know, our district features a mix of modes of student commute to school, and a robust slate of co-curricular activities which are scheduled throughout the coming days.

Given the dangerous temperatures which are predicted, school on Friday, February 3rd, 2023 is cancelled, and an emergency closure day will be used.

Typically, when such emergency closures are made, co-curricular activities are similarly-cancelled.  For the most part, this will still be the case, but certain pre-arranged co-curricular activities will be allowed to proceed, so long as additional layers of safety/student protection are applied.  These considerations have been addressed with the Advisors.  So, unless students and parents receive a different communication from the Coach/Advisor, co-curricular activities are also cancelled tomorrow evening (February 3rd), and on Saturday, February 4th.
