Just a reminder that BEEKEEPING and/or GARDENING will both start the first week in April until the end of the school year. Each activity will meet once a week, probably on Tuesdays or Thursdays after school until 5pm at Duken. Both will meet during summer, too, but participants will help plan the schedule for those meetings.
Students should contact slevaque@plattscsd.org and let me know which activity they are joining (they can join both) and what grade they’re in. Students will be provided with all needed materials.
There are two new learning opportunities for students that will start in April. The first learning opportunity will teach participants beekeeping. You will suit up in a beekeeper’s outfit and learn how to tend a hive with live honeybees!
The second learning opportunity will teach participants how to plan, design, and grow a garden. Participants will not only be taught how to grow a great garden filled with a variety of edible and non-edible plants, but they will also be able to share in the harvest of what is grown. If any of this sounds interesting to you then stop by the Guidance Office and pick up a flyer that explains more about each offering and tells you how to sign up.
There will be two Junior Prom theme meetings to brainstorm ideas and decide on three choices that will be voted on by the class tomorrow March 1st. See you there!!
February Essential Skill is TEAMWORK- Teamwork is collaborating with others to achieve a common goal. We can accomplish bigger things when we work together.
Each month CFES will sponsor a raffle based on the Essential skills. Entry forms can be found outside of the guidance office and Ms. LaPierre’s room. (room 221), and in study hall. The drawing will take place on the last school day of the month.
