Grade : The high school resource room is composed of no more than five special education students. Eachstudent comes to the resource room with individual areas of needs that are to be addressed by the specialeducation teacher on an individual basis.
Overview:
The ability to convey one’s thoughts in writing is an essential skill. Writing provides us with a record ofour thoughts, allowing us to reflect, analyze, review, clarify, and change our message to reflect our trueintentions. Applying the writing process in an effective manner is a vital skill for all students.
Based on the Six Plus One Traits of Writing Model, resource room teachers will guide their students inbecoming better writers. Students will have the opportunity to improve their writing skills using assignmentsfrom their general education classes. Students will become confident, enthusiastic writers as they transition intolife after high school.
