STUDIO ART I
Studio Art I is a one-semester, ½ credit, introductory foundation art course for students wanting to develop and improve basic art skills and knowledge of artists, mediums, techniques, and processes of art. Emphasis is placed on the Elements of Art (Line, Shape, Form, Space, Color, and Texture), & Movements & Trends in Art History. Students are given the option of choosing from a variety of studio assignments involving visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic styles of learning. Students are introduced to a variety of art mediums, tools, techniques, and processes of art.
Culminating Activity: Final Exam.

STUDIO ART II
Studio Art II is a one-semester, ½ credit, advanced elective art course for students who have completed Studio Art I. Studio Art II builds on the Elements of Art covered in Studio Art I, with emphasis placed on the Principles of Design (Emphasis, Balance, & Unity). Students are given additional freedom of choice of projects, mediums, and methods of expression. This course is designed for responsible, self-motivated students who enjoy working independently.
Culminating Activity: Final Exam Project.

CERAMICS I
Studio Ceramics is a one-semester, ½ credit, elective art course for students interested in exploring the techniques and methods of hand built and wheel thrown clay forms using the clay forming methods of pinch, slab, coil, and wheel. Students will be introduced to clay preparation, forming methods, surface decoration, underglazing, overglazing, and firing of clay forms.

PHOTOGRAPHY I
Studio Photo I is a one-semester, ½ credit, elective foundation art course for students interested in developing or improving photography skills as a hobby or possible future profession. This is an introductory course in black and white photography, exploring the history of photography, camera operation, composition, film exposure, film processing, darkroom printing techniques, and presentation of photographs.
Culminating Activity: Final Exam Essay.

PHOTOGRAPHY II
Studio Photo II is a one-semester, ½ credit, advanced elective art course for students who have completed Studio Photo I. Studio Photo II builds on the foundation course Studio Photo I with emphasis on advanced photographic techniques of cropping, dodging, burning, vignetting, diffusing, solarization, copying photos, digital retouching, product advertising photos, and digital video techniques.
Culminating Activity: Final Exam Project.

PAINTING
Studio Painting is a one semester, 1/2 credit, elective art course for students who have the desire to develop or imporve painting skills in mediums of pastel, watercolor, and acrylic. Students will explore developing original compositions for still-life, landscape, self-potraiture, and human figure studies.

DRAWING
Studio Drawing/Painting is a one-semester, ½ credit, elective art course for students who want to develop or improve drawing skills with the emphasis on drawing from observation using line, value, shape, form texture, perspective and proportion. Students will explore tonal drawing techniques using meduims of pencil, charcoal, pen & ink, and conte crayon.
Culminating Activity: Final Exam Project.
