Required Information

1. Population (with year it was taken)

2. Capital

3. Picture of the country’s flag

4. Compare the size of the country with something we can relate to- a state in the US, what other countries in that part of the world?

5. Food- what do they eat?

6. What is home life like?

7. What businesses are popular?

8. Education

9. Entertainment, Sports, etc.

10. Music, arts, crafts, customs

11. Number one export

12. Religion

13. Climate/ Seasons/ Weather

14. Animals

15. Vegetation you would see- is it tropical or desert?

16. Currency name and picture

17. Government

18. 3 famous or well known people from there, dead or living and what they are famous for

19. What do people do for work there

20. At least one interesting or unusual fact about this country

21. At least one place you’d want to visit if you went there/ popular tourist destination

22. Major Cities- Which ones? What are they like?

Everyone Must have:

Display board

Includes:

• Flag

• Map of your country with capital marked

• Pictures of three famous people from there with their names labeled on their pictures and a note about their contributions

• Picture of the currency

• Any other information gathered and you find important to include on board

Packet

Includes:

• Title Page

• Answers to questions 1-22

• Bibliography in MLA format

Oral Report

• Explains all of the required information to the class

Then choose Option A or Option B as second part of project:

Option A – Choose TWO to go along with your display board

• Make a recipe

• Play music, sing or perform a dance from the country

• Teach us a game that is played in the country

• Make a simple craft from the country

• Dress in a traditional outfit

Option B- Create a travel brochure

• Includes the answers to the questions above that are in bold print

• Includes travel information: maps, hotels, restaurants, popular tourist locations
